Today, we started and finished filming this project!
First of all I would like to thank Sam and Josh for participating in this and cooperating very well whilst filming. Despite some shots taking on average around 10 attempts due to fits of laughter, we managed to get the shots we hoped for. I am extremely pleased with the shots as I think they flow very well and the acting was suberb.
Naturally, Rhiann took the job of camera operator and I took the job of the 'Director' if you will. Rhiann was the one standing in awkward positions, zooming, cranking and focusing the camera to take the shots and I was the one who was telling the actors where to stand and reading off the storyboard sheet to ensure we got all the shots we planned. We both work very well as a team because we both know exactly what we want to get out of each shot and we are able to understand what each other means without too much deliberation.
We were having a few troubles with the noises that the camera makes. When we used the zoom function, it created a sound that you can hear in the audio of the shoot. However this problem will be able to fixed whilst editing on Premier Pro, Also when using the stick to pan the camera, it squeaked numerous times, this is also something we will have to edit out at a later date.
